Civic Engagement Internships

A remote, student-led internship where you’ll work on voter registration, social justice campaigns, and digital organizing — all while connecting with passionate peers across the country.

How to find Internships

Get started by searching on Linkedin! Start by typing in keywords like “government internship,” “political organizing,” “public policy,” or “civic engagement” and filter by experience level — many orgs post high school or entry-level roles. Follow youth-focused nonprofits like When We All Vote, Generation Citizen, or TurnUp to see when they’re hiring. You can also search for terms like “fellowship” or “student program,” which often lead to paid or prestigious opportunities. Don’t be afraid to connect with people in roles you’re interested in — a short message asking how they got started or if they know of any openings can open doors.
